Terms of use
These terms describe what ConsentMuster does, and the decisions that remain with applicants, professionals and building consent authorities.
Last updated 5 August 2026The service
ConsentMuster is an applicant-side documentation, workflow and readiness tool. It can organise files, identify likely omissions or inconsistencies, explain RFI wording, create evidence checklists and assemble a CCC record.
The service does not issue or approve a building consent or Code Compliance Certificate. It does not guarantee that an application is complete, compliant, accepted, processed within a particular period or free from RFIs.
Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for the accuracy, currency and authority of uploaded information, choosing competent project professionals, protecting confidential material, following the issued consent and inspection schedule, obtaining approvals before work is covered, and submitting official applications through the relevant BCA and territorial-authority channels.
Software outputs must be checked by the responsible applicant and suitably qualified project professionals. Do not rely on the service as legal, engineering, architectural, surveying, building-control or other professional advice.
Accounts, teams and acceptable use
Keep account access secure and invite only people authorised to see the property record. Do not upload unlawful material, malicious files, third-party confidential material without permission, or use the service to misrepresent compliance.
Acceptance of the current Terms and Privacy Statement is recorded before project information can be created or processed. ConsentMuster may restrict or suspend access where reasonably needed to protect the service, users or data. Planned or emergency maintenance may temporarily affect availability.
Plans, cancellation and remedies
Displayed prices are New Zealand dollars and exclude GST where applicable. Paid plans provide software access and the checks displayed at purchase. They do not provide design certification, legal advice, a BCA decision or a guarantee of consent.
Paid access begins only after successful payment confirmation. One-off project passes provide the number of checks displayed at purchase. Subscriptions continue monthly until cancelled through the billing portal and remain available through the paid period, subject to payment status. Account deletion closes connected recurring billing before active project data is removed.
A change of mind does not automatically create a refund entitlement. If the service fails to meet a guarantee that applies under New Zealand consumer law, available remedies are not limited by these terms. Contact ConsentMuster promptly with the account email, purchase date and problem so it can be investigated and put right where required.
Liability and professional decisions
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without a guarantee that an application will be accepted and is not responsible for consent decisions, construction defects, professional errors, project delay or indirect loss. Rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights, are not excluded.
No readiness score, checklist or finding should be used as the sole basis for building work, covering work, changing an approved design, signing a professional certificate, or making a statutory decision.
